Our old comrade Poindexter (who probably dabbled in 6V6s more than any hi-fi guy ever!) says the Tung-Sol new production is the best he's ever heard for audio. He used them in his "Musical Machine" amp, a very highly developed hand-crafted amp.I tend to believe him!
Edited to fix typo.

I have four or five matched pair of RCA black plate black glass 6V6GT that sound amazing but find the Tung-Sol's from Jim to be great as well.
I also learned that from Poindexter he is da-Man!
The thing with getting new tubes from Jim is that they are tested and truly matched. Most vintage tubes are not going to be well matched.
What SETdude stated about the Russian 6V6/6p6s black glass is true for me as well. I got a couple quads some years ago and found them a great value but don't sound good right away.
I'm curious what others think about the reissue GL 6V6 it would be my guess they would be sweet.

I have a pair but like the TS re-issue better. The GL is brighter in my amp. I may need to give them a lot more hours though.
Thanks, you just saved me a couple hundred bucks. :)

A lot of new production power tubes are very good as are the NOS Russian and Chinese. I want to try the Shuguang 6V6's too. I no longer rabidly lust for NOS.
