1. - You like your NAD. They make good stuff. You might like the Transcendent Sounds Grounded Grid Preamp which is available as a kit for ~$500. It is wicked fast with a ridiculous range (5Hz to 300KHz)! I've used mine in front of SS type amps with great success. It has literally transformed the experience! I keep my SS amps around for my DCM Timewindows and entertaining the neighborhood! Inside, I don't need that much which brings us to:
2. - The Bob Latino ST-70 fitted with his cap upgrade, Genalex KT-88s, and worthy drivers is one damned hard amp to beat. One does not need to go crazy upgrading it as it is already there! Why not just enjoy the music? I do.
3. - There is No Such Thing as Unnecessary Tube Gear! Repeat after me...

I think a nice kit like that would be fun to have around. And it won't break the bank. Or my head if I asked for the Bottlehead!
Like I already posted, I'm very happy with my stuff. I just like tubes. And seeing that ultra modern new SS NAD sitting there tubeless makes me sad!
But WOW!!!!! that sherwood is going to tough to beat - tube wise!
I've never actually been this content with my setups. So I'm not looking to really change things up. Just planning for my stereo break down when I'm retired and broke.
Thanks for the suggestion.

I've found that the Grounded Grid is spectacular as is. Tube rolling can come into play as it employs 3-12AU7 bottles. Only add-on that would be necessary is the Grounded Grid Preamp Muting circuit made specifically for SS amps. Not necessary for tubed amps. I have played with replacing the volume pot with some nice stepped attenuators that give me more control. The only other thing one can do is change the output coupling caps. Mundorf Silver in Oil are sweet but what is supplied is very good. It is really hard to improve this little guy.
After that there is really nothing left to do. It is that simple.
