I picked up a major boat anchor in the form of a BUD National Radio. It had some big iron and dual 866 dual 812 and a single 807 with some smaller metal can tubes. The 812 plates on both look the same. This is the only sign that something may have gone awry.
Anyone ever see melty 812's like this?
Any chance they could still fuction properly?

I would not trust it. I assume this is an RF amp. Probably, someone used it without proper tuning or with a badly mismatched antenna.
BTW, here is a 6CA7 that I removed from an audio amp with a hole blown in the plate. It still worked and tested OK. I replaced it.
Wow!!
Thanks for the advice and the pic. I didn't see any other fried or burned parts in it as I inspected it very closely.
