I do not understand - new to tubes and no idea which wires you are referring to - interconnects? - speaker cables? - internal amp connections?
Please advise.
Thanks,
Mike
REWIRE Pin 9 to pin 5, and make sure pin 4 and 5 are no longer tied together on the sockets as the 6CG7 is a 6 volt tube and the 12AU7 can be either 6 or 12 volt filament. The 300 milliamps CAN add up but usually the power transformer is forgiving... for one or two. One can install a 12BH7 to see if said transformer will overheat, outside of the improvement in sound there may be no undue heat.
The 12AU7 was RUSH designed as a replacement for the octal 6SN7...It was SO bad, designers built the 9 pin 6CG7 in order to make a valve electrically identical to the superb octal 6SN7. The screen found in early 6CG7's between the plates was there {in the beginning} to EQUAL the quality of a 6SN7. If you are using true 6CG7's that have an internal screen between sections, then you'll need to connect pin 9 to ground.

Thanks. I have read about this mod and now I understand what you were referring to and why it is important. I appreciate it.
