saw someone selling 7308 tubes on ebay that I was skeptical about and called him on it, closer inspection would seem that those tubes are Sylvania manufacture even though there is no maker's mark, anyone familiar with these types of 7308? I note that the ebay listings for 7308 are mostly bullshit, over half are not 7308, so I always look carefully...

I used them in a preamp and thought they were okay. My favorite 7308 was made by Amperex. I thought the Sylvania was less refined sounding than the Amperex but still a good sounding tube. Always comes down to the application, the system, and the listener's preferences.

You can get many Sylvania 6dj8 tubes at reasonable prices. Do you think the 7308 is that much better?
I know about Sylvania 6DJ8's, got them, but was wondering about Sylvania 7308, which is a bit different, a higher spec 6DJ8...
I guess I misunderstood you. BTW you should try GE 6dj8's,that's my preference.
interesting, I haven't seen any GE 6DJ8 type, lots of Syls, TFK, Amps & Mulls, but no GE!
Really? I just checked the Ebay listings and there are some listed now! Give them a try ,I think you will like them. The prices on them won't break the bank!
thanks, I'll take a look!
