The CVX100 is an EC86.
The CVX120 is an E280F.
The tubestore.com has done the tests to confirm it.
Hi, pet kef. These numbers do not correspond to anything. These numbers
appear to have been concocted by Audion for their use alone. I would
guess they have contracted a tube maker to put these gimmicky numbers
on tubes so Audion can additionally profit via tube sales alone. They appear to be button base 9-pin. Hard to see from photograph. Could be
7-pin but I doubt it. As such in a 300B amplifier the first would be
voltage amplifier. The second drives the 300B. Going beyond that would
be entirely speculative at this point. Have you thought about asking
Audion directly why they chose to cloak from Mr. & Mrs. Consumer what
their tubes really are? Take a photo of the board and post it. It
probably will reveal clues.
Yes i contact them and they told me that these were developed specifically for them.
In a quick search i found that the cvx 100 is 6922 and cvx120 is 5687.Could that be right? What do think?
Peter
Hi, pet kef. 6922 & 5687 sound right. 6922 voltage amp and
5687 driver. Maybe these are culled by testing performance after
manufacture. How do you like the amp? Audion has been building
for a decades.
The amp is amazing!!!
Peter
Here they are:
Peter
The tube on the left looks like a Siemens D3A or E282F . The tube on the right appears to be manufactured by RFT and looks like an EC86
Al
Thanks for the answers!
Could the tube on the left be a "e280f"?
Peter
Possibly . E282F , E280F and D3A all have similar construction
