They both look like bad boys to me. If they have 3 hole plates, and cooper grid posts they are bad boys. All VT-231 have two hole plates, some with steel grid posts some with cooper; there are early Sylvania 6sn7gts that have two hole plates with cooper grid post, but only the bad boys have 3 hole plates and cooper grid posts.
Enjoy!

The more I look at it, I'm inclined to agree. I'm quite sure about the one on the left being a Bad Boy, but the Sylvania lightning bolt logo on the one on the right is throwing me off. Given the production date, this might be a Bad Boy with a lightning bolt logo that hasn't been discussed anywhere yet. Thanks for the input.
I have seen re-branded badboys (branded Motorola and Zenith). It can be a badboy without the Sylvania lightning bolt logo.
Given the descriptions in the head-fi.org thread as noted above, I was thinking that the presence of the lightning bolt logo would indicate that it is a 6SN7GT, ver. 1, as opposed to a Bad Boy, which is not described as having the logo.
