I learned when researching the unit that the amount of misinformation posted about it is unbelievable. Steven, I recommend you get hold of Chris directly. He was very helpful, very honest, represented the machine accurately, and I found him a pleasure to do business with.
Disclaimer - I have not yet used the AT-1000 in "computer mode", that is with an external PC that allows you to do a bunch more things than the tester can do on its own. But I'll be happy to share what I find as soon as I have something to share!

I don't dispute the quality of the Amplitrex in the least. It's a very well engineered piece of test gear..The only thing that concerns me when paying 2700 dollars for this tester, will we be able to get service literature down the road in case of a failure. This is a relatively new company run by man who's up in years and with 500vdc present near the logic circuitry, failures can happen.I just want to make sure we will have service support if the company closes it doors or the owner retires or passes on..These things do happen and we are not talking Sencore,Tektronix,or General Electric where the company will live on.
Honest amplification is better than excessive 2nd order distortion anytime.

Mike,
I share your concern, but it wasn't enough to prevent me from making the purchase.
Sounds good. I'll keep an eye open for this TT.
Thanks!
I'd feel like shit if the owner/designer passed and the result was little if any support. As @#@#! as it sounds, I might wait until.....and then evaluate a purchase.
Jim Bongiorno passed away before I could spend more time on the phone with him to help me get my Sumo Gold back up and running. Now I'm left with a heap of Sumo. That piece was a learning experience, technically, and financially. It's a great sounding amp...what authority it had.....but a pain in my ass for the sort time it lived for me.

1000 dollars USD or thereabouts..The owner-designer sent me the schematics and I was going to make the purchase that following spring and guess what? He passed away.
Here is his email.

Hello Mike.
I am attaching the photo of the Interior, and schema Lo460.
The implementation of this software is simple.
There are 4 components:
1)transformer, 2)Motherboard, 3)Switch & bases PCB. 4)power supply.
The scheme is actually much simpler than it appears.
Usually, in case of failure, we ship the new card.
Best regards Paolo.
