I did pull the trigger on a brand new one and I'm quite pleased. I have an older laptop that will work great with the tester too, I'll be on that ASAP.
So far it's bulletproof - and I looked inside at the parts quality. 105C top shelf capacitors, etc. Very nice to see.

The boards are the same type as tubes4hifi use on a lot of their products and most of the parts are off the shelf components of excellent quality. My only concern is if the owner retires or passes away as did one person already that makes these higher priced testers, will we be able to get service literature or the software to burn a new chip that may fail down the road? I would be happy with a basic schematic and alignment instructions should an issue an arise in later years when you are likely to have problems.
Honest amplification is better than excessive 2nd order distortion anytime.

I've owned one for five years already and recommend it.
