I just found out that my old tubes are from the 80's and not the 50-60's

They made great tubes in the early 80s..While I don't think they are same quality of the 60s and 70s,they still sound very good.I personally think the Matsushita Mullard EL34s sound more detailed and extended than the XF2s they replaced.The tubes I want you t buy are vintage Russian military tubes and those were made in the 60s and 70s,or even 80s but get the pre cold war issues if possible.
Honest amplification is better than excessive 2nd order distortion anytime.
