The Philips 7189s in your Sherwood test well and make full power but the reason I suggested getting a quad from Jim to have is,the Sherwood runs those tubes pretty hard and the amp makes 22.4 watts.A new set of the 6P14p-ER will put at about 24 watts per channel and as much as I love the Philips tubes that you have, they are from the 80s meaning they were not made like they were in 60s and early 70s.I would just feel more comfortable with fresh outputs and besides, tubes are going up in price so that's another consideration.
Honest amplification is better than excessive 2nd order distortion anytime.

I do want new tubes but I'm waiting to get them as a present in a few months. I'm hoping they hold out until then. Being EVERYTHINGGGGGGGG in my house broke in the last six months. Geezz kill me know!

Your tubes will be fine.
