as usual i move amps around from home to office home etc so i can listen to mods/music
sadly yesterday while carrying the amp in a shopping bag i stopped to get some cake as its my wife's birthday this week ,i set the cake box on top of the amp its small about 4x4 and perhaps the box hit the tube while walking home 2 blocks
this am seeing the amp, tube bent to the side i just straightened it and turned it on no sound, rechecked everything for an hour its only a small el84 amp with a ez81 rec, finally checked the tube and saw that 1 pin had broken off right from the glass base and was stuck in the socket, and besides being a nice german tube, its pin 7
what can i do ?

sad to lose the tube i have saved it for over 20 yrs
thanks
...the pins are a form of steel and not easily soldered and heat of soldering would probably crack the glass seal. Mechanical strength is also needed to deal with the socket. Chalk this one off to experience.
I am assuming since this is the seventh of April and not the first that the cake reference, etc is genuine. If you do not want to go to the proper length of correctly removing the socket then here is a trick that may work.
This is assuming that you have tried needle nose tweezers or a dental tool without success.
Make sure the other tubes are out. Hold the amp upside down and spray a small (tiny) amount of CRC 2-26 Multipurpose Lubricant on the pin and let it soak a couple of hours.
Then smack (gently) the bottom of the amp with the palm of your hand and maybe the pin will fall out or just enough to get grasped by tweezers.
No warranty implied.

or the dental pick as you mentioned..If worse comes to worse,he can replace that one pin in the tube socket by taking off the wire to it and then taking a pair of needle nose and flattening the protruded lock and it will push right out.I have to do this about seven times a year on different stuff.
Honest amplification is better than excessive 2nd order distortion anytime.
