Anyone compare the two? I like the Shuguang's. It's an overall good tube but looking to improve on it without breaking the bank. I have tried two very respected other versions and the Shuguang is the winner so far. Thanks, Tweaker

The Russians are cheap...try 'em. What do you like about the Shuguangs?
They are clearer than the Ken Rads VT-107a and I believe more accurate. The Ken Rads were very musical though. They are some people's favorites. While the Tung sol RI was fantastically clear and had a awesome soundstage I found it too lean and somewhat bright for me in my system. Bass shy. The Shuguang tubes don't do anything terribly wrong. I thought they would be easy to beat but (once again) I was incorrect. Tube recommendations are very subjective. One or two people like the Russians better than the TSRI?? The Shuguang tubes do not lift the high end as to exaggerate hiss, something that bugs me. The TSRI did this in my system. Tweaker
+1
I picked up a quad of 1968 Russian 6P6S tubes for $25/delivered,
IMHO, pretty decent sound....and ya can't beat the price.
nt
They seemed to take 4 ever and a day to settle in.
