I would like to ask what are the differences in these two tubes. I have a few of the Bendix and have heard good things about the GE's. I may be purchasing a 6087 soon. Thanks for your help.

I've used GE 6087 rectifier tubes for years, in my DIY amplifier builds.
They work just fine, and I have yet to run into a single problem with them.

Thanks gearhunter for your input. This is good to know. I will plan on finding one online somewhere and check it out. Thanks again.
I've used both. And they are very good subs for most 5Y3GT amps. The startup time for the 6087, that I have, is a bit faster than the 6106. Maybe 5-10 sec faster, on cold starting. Both are hardy, tough rectifiers that put out voltage and current in the 5Y3GT range.
I have one Vibro-Champ that has the same 6106, installed in 1992. Play the amp about once a week. Maybe, 2-3 hours at "7-10." A friend has a brownface Princeton that I recapped and re-tubed about 10 years ago. It has a GE 6087 in it. He plays at his church, each week. No problems.
Good morning FenderLover, Thanks. This is the kind of information I was looking for. I have a 46 type SET amp that I have been using with an RCA 5Y3G (ST) that has been in there for a couple of years but noticed a slight noise and some light flash so I installed the Bendix 6106 in there. I did notice it was a VERY slow warm up. Many thanks my friend for the info.
The Bendix 6106 & GE 6087, are some of many good 5Y3GT sub-types. I think you'll like the 6087.
