In hifi audio,we tend to want to the least microphonic tubes we can get because that translates into lower background noise, better detail, and better dynamics because excessive noise or microphonics in a tube will be amplified as signal thru an amplifier and will rob a lot of the good specs of the amp or preamp.
That said, military and industrial tubes tend to have less microphonics many times because they are built a bit more rugged or they at least test better than the standard issue tubes most likely.
Does this mean the 6678 will sound better? All you can do is try it and see how you like it.The green Syl 6U8s are very good as well and that's why I say try it.
Honest amplification is better than excessive 2nd order distortion anytime.

Once again on the 6678. It is designed for mobil equiptment and a 3 cell battery use, whatever that means, ruggitized? In your experiance are these higher quality tube deeper in the bass? Thanks, Tweaker
Not necessarily deeper in the bass but they tend to be quieter and when tubes are more quiet,we tend to hear more intricate details and the overall dynamic structure can pick up.These tubes are cheap enough where I would say, give it a try.

Thanks for the reply Mike. Probably the military is better than the industrial? Tweaker
