I'm sure they may be out there but the TungSol round plates just everything right.
Honest amplification is better than 2nd order distortion anytime.
Follow Ups:
The TSRP's have ever so slight an edge in the high freq's over the 52's, but from the mid-bass on down the 52's take the cake, and it's on that basis that I favor the 52's. My all-time favorite in that whole family of tubes is the National Union 6F8G. It too has round plates as does the TS 6F8G. I wonder why round plates fell out of favor with the manufacturers?
I didn't notice any edginess in the highs but mine are 1943 tubes..I have those 6F8Ga but I don't know what brand they are.I might try them.

Mike, my statement wasn't clear. I didn't mean the TSRPs are edgy sounding in the HFs, I meant that comparatively speaking, the TSRPs have a slight advantage (edge) over the 52's in the HF.
Gotcha!

Thanks to all on your comments on the Sylvania 52 Bad Boys. I'm waiting for them to arrive in a few days and also have a pair of Brimar 6SN7GT clear glass oval grey plates from 1954 on the way too. I'm using them in a Woo Audio WA6 and with Denon AH-D7000 and Sennheiser HD600 headphones. Can't wait to hear those Bad Boys sing!
