I've not seen this before.

One wonders what the harmonic and overdrive character of these soild-state device will be like. I can't imagine the same results as the "real" 12AX7.
I have no idea but it is interesting.
Drawing only 15ma. of heater current will cause problems if you don't have a regulated heater supply.

As per my link, maybe it's the same concept as a Fetron? Just more specifically spec'ed to a 12AX7?

Similar concept and new to me. The nerd in me wonders how they sound. ;-)
There's someone who built a radio with Fetrons (linked below). From what I can see in the manual provided in the ebay ad and by other reports, they're not exactly drop in compatible spec-wise. Their amplification factors for AX7, AT7, BH7 and AU7 type subs are way off (150, 1500, 21000 are numbers I find lol), and depending on the circuit/application they may be entirely incompatible (regardless of how they're advertised). Fetrons were, AFAICT, a huge flop.

But, thinking on it, the AMT products may be different. Fetrons drew no heater current whatsoever (not connected). The AMT ss-tube does (same 15ma as a regular 12AX7), and at least the characteristics are advertised to be the same. So, what's the deal behind these, I don't know...
Someone buy one and break it!

A regular draws 150ma. at 12.6 volts

Whoops! Ya you're right. Sorry, I got mixed up between the amps versus milliamps thing. Data sheets... Oi...
