Style of logos on boxes, through the years. These logos often carry over to the tubes. Most of my tubes with that "lightning-S" Sylvania logo are yellow or green and 1950's vintage (if I remember correctly).

Sylvania 12AX7 tubes manufactured in USA in the mid 1950's had green coloured labelling with the "lightning" symbol through the "S" shield. I believe the yellow labelling made its first appearance in the very early 1960's or perhaps even earlier in the very late part of the 1950's. Its interesting to note that the yellow labelled Sylvania 12AX7/12AU7 variety also appeared as made in Canada with the same shield and lightning symbol through it.Reference photos of both types are attached.
