Good riddance. Many of the tube vendors on Audiogon were full of crap. Their prices were ridiculous and they were, too.
Follow Ups:
I agree- rediculous Audiogon prices. I find NOS less expensive at times at large retail sellers such as vacuumtubes.net in FL. And, this is vs Audiogon USED tubes prices.
eBay is ok at times, best are tube suppliers right here at AA. Sure a few cents more than some ebayers, but are seriously tested & guaranteed.
Sure, but many were also OK and I had some good transactions there before Audiogon screwed the pooch and drove away sellers.

I used to sell excess good tubes on A-Gon, but now they want me to sell only one unit (single, pair, quad) for the fee plus their additional cut. Its not worth it anymore unless I have a high dollar item to sell. Most 12AX7s fall into the low dollar category.
I rarely even go there anymore since it is even harder to navigate around and search for specific items. Seems like they took a good thing and botched it up with 'improvements'. Kinda like corporate America and how they kill off businesses.
I'm sure that most of A-Gon's changes are designed to get them the most $$ from the sellers, which due to the unpopularity of the changes with both buyers and sellers, ultimately kills off their business. Its sad because I used to check their site multiple times daily. Now, it may be once every week or two....and I'm mainly a buyer. It not only sucks to sell from their site, but it sucks to buy from them now too.
this was how I was viewing it. Higher fees and more hoops to jump through equals less sellers and less shoppers.
I've not been pursuing much audio equipment/stuff for a while and only browse Agon a few minutes a week as opposed
to the several minutes a day from not so long ago. Not nearly as fun or interesting as it was pre-upgrade.
I did buy a new (used) PC recently in an easy transaction there though.
But the damage they've rained down upon themselves is readily apparent.
The slowly increasing amount of items available in the Asylum Audio Trader
is a good sign.
