Greetings All,
Can someone please help with the following Siemens E88CC codes?
I would like to understand where & when these tubes were made, plus any other data these codes contain.
A4 9G. - two line code on aluminum tag attached to splatter shield leg.
A6 2K. - two line code on aluminum tag attached to A frame getter support leg.
A6 2H. - as above.
I would be grateful if someone could show me some links on Siemens production codes, I've searched the web without much success.
Thanks.
Best Regards.
Follow Ups:
For the first tube, the code A4 9G signifies Siemens, Munich July 1969 production. The first digit in the second line represents the year of production (in this case 9 = 1969) and the second digit represents the month (in this case G = 7th month = July). The first digit A in the first line represents the Siemens code for E88CC tubes and the second digit represents the revision of E88CC (4th revision in this case).
The second tube is a 6th revision E88CC tube made in November 1972 and likewise the third tube is a 6th revision made in August 1972. Hope this information clears up any confusion.
Hi All,
I may, after further investigation, be able to at least partially answer my own question.
I believe the two line Siemens code deciphers as follows:
A = tube type, in this case E88CC/6922.
4 =??
9 = last digit of year manufactured. (1979)
G = month of manufacture (July, where A = January, B = February etc….)
The second letter (4) is still to me an unknown, possibly a factory identification code or tube type revision code.
I post this with the expectation that it may help others.
Regards.
This web site has a wealth of information.
