I just received a matched pair of Tungsol 6L6G from a reputable online tube seller. They're big bottle, black glass and marked "VT-115A Tungsol" on the base.
But, they also have the stop sign symbol on the glass with "6L6G" inside it. Are these RCA or real Tungsol? That stopsign tells me they're RCA ... or did a bunch of manufacturers use that symbol in addition to RCA?
Follow Ups:
Tung-Sol also used a stop sign around the tube number. For what it is worth, I have found many directly and indirectly triodes from the 1940s in particular that were not made by RCA or T.S. that also had stop signs. Starting in the 1950s all smaller tubes with stop signs were either RCA or T.S.s in my experience.
FWIW, I have many TS 5881/6L6WGB's with the "stop sign" on the top or sides of the bottle. Pretty sure these are TS made tubes.
