I recently took the delivery of a cheap Chinese SE amplifier. It has two 6L6G tubes, two 6N8P tubes (which I subsequently replaced with 6SN7WGT tubes) and one 5Z4P rectifier.
I believe it would be unreasonable to pay $350-$400 for a pair of RCA 6L6GC tubes when the amplifier costs $300.0 incl. shipment, but is there any reason in replacing the 5Z4P tube with its vintage equivalent? Does it influence the sound?
Follow Ups:
The 6L6s are the easy part. Get some Russian 6П3С-E (6p3s-e3) stock from a reliable vendor, like AA sponsor Jim McShane.
The rectifier is indirectly heated, but seems to resemble the 5Y3. U.S. made types of that character are the 6087/5Y3WGTB and the 6106.

Other sources suggest that GZ30 is the closest analog.
IIRC, a GZ30 is mighty close to the U.S. 5Z4. Mullard made GZ30s will carry hefty price tags.
Be very careful with Chinese types. For instance, the 5Z3P is a 5U4 "equivalent", with an Octal base. A U.S. made 5Z3 is electrically equivalent to the 5U4G, BUT the base is (sic) UX4.
