Naw I dont think its Chinese. I have Chinese tubes and they look just like the ones in the pic above. If you look at the getter in the Chinese tubes they have only one arm extending to the getter. Both Chinese tubes on the right show this, as well the Chinese tube on the very bottom on the left.I read a posting by a person over seas who said his Vincent SA-T1 came with NOS Sovtek. I did not believe him until I saw the Tube in the picture has a Star, like all Sovtek tubes. But the picture above shows the Sovtek tubes have two arms going to the getter. The Sovtek on the right second row shows this. I believe its a Sovtek. And it does really sound great.

It is a Chinese 12AX7.I have a box full of them (Mesa and Ruby branded) with 2 posts to the getter. Hard to see in the photos, but there are two there.
I believe they are older production (1990s).
The Sovteks have a characteristic saucer getter, while the Chinese tubes have this single dimple rectangular getter.
I also have some Chinese 12AT7s from the same time period, and they have two posts to the same type getter as well.
By the way, I find these older Chinese tubes to be decent - very accurate in my opinion. I have, however, not used them extensively. I understand one main issue with them is longevity - they drop off quickly.

How can you tell...by the plates?
Oh you said by the post to the getters? Oh ok. You may be right.Well if they are older Chinese tubes they really do sound nice...very nice. But why the star?

You can see the typical Russian saucer getter in this photo.
Yeah I can see that. Have to take a look at my Golden Lions to see if they have that.
