I have 2 Amperex presumed tubes. Date codes etched Heerlen 9C5 with GAC above and 9H3 no other markings. Both say made in Holland in white lettering both ECC88.
Can anyone tell me the year of manufacture?
These are not "A" frame dimple getter. They have a single flat post to a solid disk dimple getter, and also what is considered a scatter shield just above the box construction. I cannot find anything that matched this description say on Tube Monger Lib.
The reason for asking is these sound superb! Would like a backup.
TIA for any info. I will try to post a pict.

Do they look like the tubes in this picture? The getters should be the small "o" type. (Photo is taken from Tube World.) Would think the tubes you're describing are from 1969: 5th week of March and 3rd week of August and they should sound very nice.Enjoy.

Amperex Holland 6dJ8 Globe(World) Logo style dimple disc getter. These tubes will always have 1969 date codes. Short production run prior to A-Frame style dimple disc getter. Unique sounding Amperex 6DJ8 IME.
I learn something every day. So many tubes, so little time.
Thanks again for the info.

Joe thanks for the help. Here are a couple shots. Those look correct.
Getter shot, but not really small O?
I have exactly the same type of 6DJ8.....and 5 of them.....2 pairs and one single.
I always liked them but always wasn't sure if they are Amperex Heerlenbecause of the unusual getter.
I was looking for other Amperex / Siemens 6DJ8 /6299 but you say they are exellent tubes ....so maybe I don''t need to miss anything.

These are new to me. The dimple disk getters I've seen on Amperex 6DJ8s have been A-frame.
Joe
Yes, I also have the A frame dimple disk Getter versions. That is why these did not match any description.
I think they're rebranded Mullard.
Most of the 60's Mullard are Dimple Disks like these except one of these has the Heerlen symbol etched, both are labeled made in Holland.
The A frames sound very good these sound better. Wouldn't you know it!Funny you can be in this stuff for over 30 years then something shows up completely different from the usual offerings.
Much thanks guys!!!

Sometimes trying to figure this out, can be a head banging convention.
I have several pair of NOS,NIB, Philips SQ 6922Gpins. Same Getter structure as the ones posted above. They're labeled Great Britain.
I sent a pic to TubeMonger. He had never seen it and asked if I wanted to add it to his library. So I did.
I "think" it was TubeMonger that indicated the notable difference being EXTREMELY QUIET .....and they are.
They measure very strong in the circuit as well.
I had got these with a pair of Seimens labeled A frame dimple getters also VG when I purchased my Pathos Classic MKII. Very musical in this amp. Quiet yes. They should last a while in this Pre circuit. I have since purchased Amperex A frame too nice but not up to the unnamed ones.
Thanks for all the help!

Here ya go.
Close but no cigar. The post on the getter is a flat riser not a wire and they have Amperex Holland Heerlen date codes etched. Very interesting, I will probably never find them again.Maybe I should put them on E Bay for $500 a pair? LOL!

Plus the splatter shield.
Since you've figured out the codes, you know what you have
Check tubemonger's library.
