Greetings. I’ve tried several kinds of 6922’s in my CJ 17LSII preamp, and the ones that sound the best by far are labeled Valvo ECC88. The back side of the tube has the following information:
104 2160 C2 (around the side of the tube)
Made In
Germany
V.E.B
Funkwerk
I cannot recall where or when I bought them. The white boxes say they are Amperex 6922 1970 NOS, hand written. What are they and how do I get some more? I need four for the CJ. Thanks.
Or do i have it backwards again?
"Live free or die"
near the bottom of the tube on the side. You can tell by the codes exactly whet u have. You'll most likely need good lighting to see it. BC
Hi Sturmey:
Hard to tell from your discription as there are so many tubes out there of this type. More info would help. Are the tubes goldpin? What is the getter type? Can you read the date codes? Any markings between the tube pins?
I can offer two websites that may help you--- www.tube-classics.de and www.tubemongerlib.com. Both sites have pictures and discriptions of tubes and you may be able to match up what you have.
