I received this 6CA7 tube as part of a bunch I bought from a TV repairman. I know it's a 6CA7 and I think it's a Mullard but beyond that I don't know. I can't read the label and can't find the usual Mullard date code. It has the hole in the centering pin and dual getters. Any help?
Thanks for the help. It does not have any code on the tube glass near the bottom. You can barely make out the Amperex lettering so I think you both are correct. It tests very strong so maybe it will be of use to someone.
Like BC says, thats a Dutch amperex and its far better than a mullard EL34 IMHO..Those,and the Phillips metal base as well as the 5 staple telefunkens are my favorite EL34s. Now for musical detail, and I may get a lot of crap for saying this but,I really like the Siemens. That tube you have there is very good especially,if you don't have any plate scarring.
If the power supply waveform isn't pretty, neither is the sound in most cases.
bottom of the tube base? X code maybe instead of B? BC
