Looking for someone that knows Melos SHA Gold preamps inside out. I have a SHA Gold reference that I had M.A.R. work on a couple of years ago. I'm planning to sell it and now would like to locate a second shop (not MAR) to bench test and confirm all is up to spec. before putting it up for sale.
I recall reading in the AA this past year of some one that reportedly was a Melos gear guru. Can't seem to locate the info in repeated searches.
Any advice would be appreciated.
I seem to recall that over on "Audiocircle" there was quite a bit of discussion on Melos. Do a search there, might help.
You want to head over to www.head-fi.org and do a search for carlo. He is your man. He modded my melos and is the resident guru of Melos. No one touches head-fiers melos but carlo :)
Thanks Zanth. I visited head fi for the first time. Cool site. I attempted to register to contact Carlo but no luck. Getting an error message indicating they don't like my yahoo.com email address.
Is there another way to get in contact with Carlo?
Carlo has recently worked on my Melos MA-333, which I received back from him this past Thursday, with extensive parts upgrades and DACt stepped attenuator in place of a malfunctioning photentiometer. The unit is still breaking in -- I like what I hear so far, and that's before the Black Gates have had a chance to break in . . . . E-mail me for contact information.
