no slight intended. I have been continuing to look at this topology, and have decided some experimentation is required. There are as many things which shoot holes in this method as prove its worth. So, must build. The 8k:500 offers a 4:1 stepdown. There is a Peerless design 5k:500 which is a little more than 3 step down.

for extravagance's sake, I figure an A-18 input TX, and a Sakuma-style 801:801 ( PP pairs ov course ).
