These were comfortably running in my W6m's, with 2W/10R cathode sense resistors. Flash of blue and the some smoak issued forth as I was reaching for the power switch( was right next to it, fixin' to swap in another disc). Rolled the amp over and found that cathode R was crisped, and to do that I assume I had some sort of internal failure that resulted in the blue flash. These were from Jim's last good batch of Type III.
Off to rehab, though my only good set of replacements is a set of Type II's.

Ugh! No warning signs, prior to meltdown?
None...stable bias(I check fairly often), and nothing unusual before it failed. Still working up the courage to check continuity on the 16431 OPT...LOL
