That's what I use on the input stage of my ALtec 1570s I rebuilt but using the Tutay mods.You can kind of use them in place of a 12AX7 as I recall.

All,
Been using these in guitar amps for the last couple of years. They are super cool, bought up a bunch of JAN 6072A's years ago.
Three amps here used by Barenaked Ladies, top one is RFC (Reactor Follower Coupled [Directly Coupled output stage A/A2]) single ended 6550, Orange and BB Blue are MPC (Magnetic Phase Coupled) PP 6V6, which Ed uses primarily now for all the touring.

Very nice! Workhorse amp.
I find that the 12AY7 (6072) is nice in amps that have 40+ watt output. Sometimes, in small SE amp of 5-7 watts --- need 12AX7 to get to some gain OD (esp if you don't have master volume control).
I found this guy in the Netherlands.Offer him 80usd he may bite..These are NOS triple mica GEs.
