Michael, have you measured the capacitance of this cable? It's useful to know the capacitance to the shield, as well as capacitance between the two conductors. The majority of boutique wire on the market is next to useless for longish cables because its capacitance is so high. Not saying that's the case here, but I don't use cable if I can't quantify this basic characteristic. Also, I've read in several places that teflon insulated wire must be silver plated in order to avoid reaction between the teflon and the wire. I've never seen teflon insulated wire that wasn't silver, and that goes back almost 50 years. I buy teflon hookup wire without even asking.

PTFE insulated wire also comes with nickel plated conductors and in the case of some PTFE co-ax such as RG179U , copper plated steel centre conductor

I haven't but having teflon insulation unquestionably would reduce any capacitance between the wires but virtue of it's insulating factor. There are many that claim teflon is the best dielectric for a capacitor so I would think that plays a role in this situation.

Yes Teflon is a great insulator but any insulation will increase the capacitance vs. air, not reduce it.

That's right it does but, that's where winding techniques has an affect..I just conceive of 2pf to 5pf having much of an affect..I would think lower resistance would have the best affect on the signal. Here is a nice article on this very subject.

Have always valued your knowledge/posts so a question if I may.
Most consumer audio products work with a single ended signal (one hot and one grounded conductor). Given that wouldn't a coax cable be the proper choice? If you agree, have you by any chance found you liked the sound of a twisted pair better despite all of that?

I'm having a hard time believing that.
There must be a lot of space between conductors.
I love to see that wire.

How long is 'longish'?
1 ft., 3 ft.?
Longer?
Recall making an interconnect by braiding 3 Teflon coated wires but I have no idea where it is today. Seems it was about 3 ft. long and sounded just as good as a similarly braided Kimber Kable.
