For my 813 amp filament supply. Are they the right kind of high frequency switching supply that one uses for single ended projects? TIA, Dak

Chinese switchers put out tons of garbage. If you're going to attach one to a directly heated power tube, you'll need to build a high Q, LC low-pass filter. You might also have to place the switcher and the external filter in its own shielded compartment, depending on what appears at the output of the amplifier.

Actually, i put in an offer and it was refused so i am still hunting for my SMPS. I dont want to get a bunch of parts to make one it seems to make more sense to either buy one or modify the unit i am considering. Do you know of one that i can buy that is good out of the box? And what does modifying this unit entail? My preference would be to buy a unit that i can just install and not worry about. cheers, Dak
Rod Coleman makes a DHT Filament Regulator for the 813. Add a couple of transformers and caps and you would have a better solution.

That sounds like a better option to me, especially if you want a plug-and-play supply. I used ultrasonic supplies for my 211 SETs, but it takes some work and a new container (plastic for safety). All the ultrasonic work has been documented here in the forum.
