After a 1 year wait for product shipment, by the manufacturer, I'm giving up on the Juli@ as the card to combine with Pete Millett's interface.
:>(( :>(( Grrr!
What are the thoughts of the "inmates" regarding the ASUS Essence STX II card? What concerns me is a review saying there was trouble when tried with 64 bit Windows 7, which is what I currently run.

Hello Eli.
I also have been using the ASUS Essence STX II card on Windows 7 64 bit machine. I have had no problems. I use it only for ripping my LP collection to a digital format. I have it hooked into an Bottlehead Eros photo preamp and BeePre preamp. I use Audacity for my conversion program. I has been great and I have no problems. It was easy to install although I did have to buy a special connector for an RCA plug.
Good Luck
Richard
I have been running the Asus Essence STX II card for about two years now, Win 7 64 bit and never a hickup. Headphone amp is okay, but dac is quite good. Running optical out to Emotiva XDR-2, to Project Ember amp, with dual 6J5's to Senn 700, Senn 800 due in tomorrow. I also use JRiver version 21 and get great sound.
This is the last page of Tom's Hardware's test of 4 dac device's including the Asus, interesting read.
not sure about asus.
can recomend marion trace alpha and asi 5111. $360ish for marion trace. 550 for the asi. lynx 22 is another great one about $600. digigram also good.
trace alpha is 24/192 and "direct coupled". I get mine through the broadcasters general store.
I remember sound cards from the 1980's.
