I suspect the OP has the types mentioned on hand and wants to use them.

Exactly!! I have got tons of 6AQ8 recently and have some JJ ECC83 as well.
I know someone has a RC coupled 300B pp amp that has both tubes in the driver and sounds wonderful!!
The 6AQ8 contains triodes "equivalent" to those in the 12AT7. They sound good with 200-220 V. on the plate and an I B of 3 mA.
The triodes in a 12AX7 make quite decent voltage amplifiers. What they can't do is drive loads. DC coupling those triodes to LTP grids, Mullard style, is "just what the doctor ordered".
FWIW, I like the idea of PP 300B "finals". Cancellation of the (IMO) excessive 2nd order HD the type produces will occur. ;> )
BTW, you may be able to use AC powered 300B heating, as the cancellation effect applies to filament hum, as well as 2nd order HD.

Whether using 12AX7 and 6AQ8 as driver tubes would be perfectly driving 8 x 300B?
