It is similar to a Clarity Cap DTAC MKP. Look up Humble Homemade HiFi's review of said Clarity DTAC cap, since they gave it a " 10 " rating.Mine are 5 uF, rated for 64 AMPERES Irms., and about 1.3 milli Ohm ESR at 100 KHZ.
I am using the two large round caps as a first bypass of the 15 uF WIMA DC LINK, across C1 - and also for the first bypass value across the WIMA DC LINK in the C2 position. C1 and C2 capacitor banks are for the B+ powering the Type 45 output's stage, as in L1/C1/L2/C2. It has a Low Stored Energy Supply ( LSES ), chokes are only 10 Ohms and 8 Ohms respectively in DCR, under two pounds in weight.
Amp's B+ and ground wiring is double 12 AWG, so it is effectively 9 AWG. Think of keeping intact "instantaneous peak currents" on music playback. What does it take to have the amplifier NOT to clip them off, and be M.I.A., lost in the amp ??
Sonically, to my ear, the large round "bypass" cap plays back ALL the voices of a large male chorus properly, you sense the men singing in a group individually " from the floor up", which I CAN NOT get any amp to do, any other way.
Fun capacitor to hear. Its grossly big. It also requires very thoughtful terminations on either side, to sound its best. Fun stuff.
