Below, people are discussing speakers, What about wire to drive the speaker folks ???Most high efficiency speaker implementations I see today are grossly mis-wired, and so, people revert to the use of 8 Watt amps, when a 2 Watt amp with proper wire, amp to crossover, crossover to drivers, will work wonders.
Golly, Mr. Bob Fulton ( and I, as his California representative ) had wire covered back in the early 80s!!
I spent three hours last night prepping 26 different lengths of 12 AWG cable, triple checking paralleled lengths ( I use Fulton's 57 1/8th inch increments ) for the up-coming ALTEC A-4 re-do of wire. Have 6 more lengths to prepare.
The MINIMUM amount of wire I will use between a crossover and a 15 inch woofer is TWO paralleled 12 AWG runs ( effectively 9 AWG ), PER TERMINAL, to get as good a transfer efficiency and sonics as affordable and possible. Got no jack for Siltech !! Between amp and crossover, in 2015, I parallel three to four 12 AWG runs of wire, depending upon length, three is OK for short runs.
My A-7s will use FIVE multiple lengths of 57 1/8th inches, which is 285.625 inches long, or 23.80 feet. At FOUR runs in PARALLEL, per polarity, that is 16 runs, or 380 feet of wire to construct a stereo pair of 23.8 feet cables. But, its effectively 6 AWG, yet due to small gauge ( 12 ), and silver content, it has better bandwidth than a single 6 AWG run. Fun.
I think MOST people miss the boat on high transfer efficiency, so they go to crummy 300B amps, and biamping with a different time constants through the two amps, and the MASKING of an active crossover, added needlessly to the chain.
Of course, I am ass/u/me ing the person KNOWS how to build a good triode SET, which is a big stretch from all I see and hear.
Enough of my rant. Have fun, I certainly DO !!

Jeff ...must see these parallel connected 12's how would they do on a fulton p12 system?
Similar to FMI / Fulton Brown ( or Gold ) speaker wire, copper stranded, silver plated, shallow twist. Main difference, teflon outer jacket. FMI's likely better, but NLA. Don't mess with it, I'd say.
Jeff
Hi jeff, did you know that teflon builds static charge...IMO not a good idea riding along with the music?!...but maybe i am wrong??
Lawrence
What do "I" know??
Most people consider teflon to be an excellent insulation, perhaps the best possible Lawrence.
I don't know - OR care. I use it ! Have fun. Enjoy.
Jeff
I get that you use it...and if it works for you fine...just asking about it is all...
lets see some pix!!!
No crossover. Single driver. Filtered phy-hp super tweeter.
