Sometimes, the shielding in pre-made cable is foil, not braid. :>( Why take a risk? McMaster-Carr carries copper braid shielding. ;>)

Follow Ups:
I've never seen RG58/U with foil shield. It's always braid because that's required in order to solder it to RF connectors like PL259. That's not to say I enjoy stripping coax in order to have braided shielding. Is the McMaster braid tinned?
