Other than the 866A and the 866 jr, does anyone know if there were
any globe shaped mercury rectifier tubes ever made? Preferably one
smaller like a s-14.

The 83 actually did come in globe form, but only from Eveready Raytheon, from my experience. They are fairly rare, but I managed to acquire a few.
Western Electric had a lot of nice single-phase globe-shape MV rectifiers but none that were full-wave as far as I know.
There were some oddball 866 variants and such that came in smaller globe bulbs, smaller than 866. Most are pretty rare, and you would be hard pressed to put together pairs of them. And they were single-wave (like an 866jr). 866AX comes to mind as does A660, both from amperex.
Also, I think Kenrad made the KR-1 (not 100% sure on the name) which was basically like a 37 globe but as a rectifier with MV fill. Also pretty rare.

Hi Ed
Thanks for the input some really good info there. Just out of
curiosity did EIMAC ever make a MV rectifier?
Cal
Yes, Eimac did - the RX-21. They are relatively rare, and came in two shapes, one sort of globe like, and one more tubular. Both half wave, like an uprated 866 basically. The globe ones have a beautiful shape to them.
like the one that was in my Hickok. Regarding this pic the OP wrote:"" Since I used my Knight 600 tube tester, I can't activate both plates together. That's why you only see blue light glowing from left plate.""

RG1-250 is a small balloon . A very pretty valve

The type 82 is a smaller full wave MV rectifier, with a 2.5 V., 3 amp heater. A lot of these, if not all, were made in the globe style.
Then, there's the awesome W.E. 249B (a little larger):

Thanks! I was unaware of the 82, weird. The 83 of course I have seen
and considered using but to my knowledge don't come in a globe
envelope. I have already snagged a pair of 82's off ebay and will give
them a try.
