A look at a 6BQ5 data sheet shows g2 current "idling" at 5.5 mA. and max. draw as 10 mA. Setting the current regulating resistor for 26 mA. seems right. Decide if the PSU can take the added 6 mA., when a peak demand occurs.

OK, the ice is very thin. A heatsinked LR8 in each channel would be a solution. The total added draw for the 2 ICs is 1 mA.

I am very interested in trying this, but, I am not very good at turning a manufacturer's white paper into a workable solution. Do you have a "recipe" that I can follow for my SE amp? I guess removing the current G2 supply from the B+ will gain back some power for using in the LR8, so , I won't be upsetting the apple cart. Thank you for your help, cheers, Dak
