I am wondering if there is any sonic benefit to increasing the filtering to a push pull 6550 amp with a CLC filter by adding another choke and cap. I have found that for single ended amps there is a definite benefit. But in a PP amp with the split signal, maybe the sonic benefit gets masked to some extent? Any thoughts on this, please give your reasons, pro or con. Have a great day, Dak

Does the amp run only in class A?
If your amp is AB, you may not want any filtering, as the change in current draw while the circuit is operating will be more problematic with a choke sitting between the power transformer primary/rectifier and the OPT/finals. (I'm making some assumptions about your power supply, that you probably have solid state rectification and a decent amount of filtering up front)
Hi, the amp is SS rectified, with about 220uf on C1 and about 2H choke and 200uf for C2. The reason I am thinking of adding another choke is to lower the B+ a little to around 440vdc. cheers!
