I agree with this idea. The preamp may actually work quite a bit better with the gain reduction of the output transformer, as well as the lower output impedance.
Follow Ups:
When I bread boarded the circuit I used a great sounding 0.1uf audionote copper mylar for the output.
I don't think a large one (parafeed cap needs to be approx 8uf for a 10k primary) will sound as good.
I would like to be able to switch between the two caps.
0.1uF, what amplifier are you driving?
my amps are at least 100k input z
0.1uF into 100K will give you noticeable bass rolloff.
I'd bet that a 10uF Solen will sound considerably better than any 0.1uF cap you have in there.
why you need 10uf ?
Give it a try and listen to the difference. 0.1uF into 100K is way too low. 10uF into 100K is pretty high, but you will at least remove the bandwidth limitation of that coupling cap.
Why not use two caps? The original 0.1uF driving the low-level output, and a larger parafeed cap to the transformer...

yes thats what I want to do, but will I get switching noise if I have a switch at the plate?
My point was not to switch. Leave the large cap/transformer connected all the time.
