I replaced the resistors, brought it up on variac and same scenario after approximately 2 minutes run time, loud pop, fuse blown but resistors were not damaged .Noticed the 285 ohm resistor block before them was way hot to the touch .There is a burn mark inside the bottom of the 6973 between pin 1 and nine .Given this amp never acted up until tube change I am going to get the tubes tested and go from there .Also , the hum pot I want to replace .What ohm do I need and linear/audio taper which kind .I appreciate you guys and gals taking your time to help a guy who doesn't have all the technical expertise but definitely has tube fever .

You need a 100ohm linear taper pot. Any type will work, but I would use a mil.spec. wirewound. Pin 9 is the plate and pin 1 is grid 2.
6973 data sheet is attached.
.
Freak out...Far out...In out....
Turned out to be the 6973 output tube .It appeared NOS visual but things happen . Thank you once again .
