If you don't ground the CT of a 5v filament trans, can you use it a 10v filament source? thanks for the help, Dak

Well a "5v ct" filament transformer to me means 5v winding end to end with a 2.5v center tap.
Now if the transformer is 10v CT that would imply that it has 5v between the center tap and each winding end. In this case, yes just don't use the center tap or ground it as is often done. Just depends on the application.
Nope
That simply means there is 2.5vac from each lead to the center tap so it is still a 5 volt transformer..

Of course, you are right. I don't know what I was thinking. Hoping against hope I guess. cheers, Dak
