Hi folks especially those into auto repair, after reading another inmate refurbished his HK citation 2, I Plan to refurbish several potted transformers and chokes, they have chips and some scratches, instead of using hammertone type paint to mask them, I plan to paint them nicely, is there any easy to use sand-able filler for such job? What do you use?
thank you very much.

For chips and scratches you are better off using a glazing putty. Unless you have dents in the cases the JB Weld is too much work. Good glazing putty fills beautifully with less work and is easier to finish.I recommend using Eastwood's product, the link to it is below. I have no connection with them except as a satisfied customer.
Edited to fix misspelling.

The Eastwood putty is similar to two-part body filler which I've used in the past. Note that raw aluminum should be coated with an etching primer first to ensure good adhesion.

Glazing putties are like really smooth, blue Bondo. Be sure to use primer over them before painting.
Thanks Jim, Good to know !!
I actually had some shipping dents, box fell apart, not well packed.

Of all the two part adhesives, this one is really permanent.
