Went ahead and put the 310a drivers in, and there is a difference. The highs seem to have a bit more detail to them and the overall sound is really nice. I figured there must be some reason WE used the 310a in the 91a as both tubes were in production at the same time.
I noticed that the 310as I am using have smaller mesh holes than the 328; perhaps that may have something to do with it, or maybe the higher filament voltage. The book "75 years of WE tube manufacturing" says they are the same except for filament current and voltage.
If any one has any experience with these tubes I would appreciate hearing what you think of them.

Vinnie:I preferred the coke-bottle Mullard EF37A to the 310A, 6J7, 6SJ7, 6C6, etc front-ends...but (to the best of my knowledge), I have never heard a 328.
Please note: my experience is with a directly-coupled SE 2A3/45/46 amp.

Thanks for the info Jim. I guess my work is cut out for me with testing any of those drivers I have in my stash. I appreciate the input.
