In your experience are there sound quality differences between different high voltage electrolytic capacitors? For example, Panasonic ED or EE series versus plain jane Nichicon VZ series? If so, which sound the best? I'm only referring to standard industrial ones, not boutique like Mundorf, F&T, Jensen, etc.

Regarding the Nichicon KX vs Panasonic vs Cornell Dubilier. One man's opinion, but it gives you something to consider.
I'd agree with Chip647, if you can fit film or motor run caps in, do it. But if not, it's either wise, or a way to drive yourself crazy, to consider how different brands of electrolytics might affect the sound.
Have fun.
I use Sprague Atoms or film caps like Solen. The only reason you will need a cap over 80uf is if you don't use chokes. Use chokes. The best electrolytic is no electrolytic. The Atoms are very reliable.Sound. As Smoky says "Only you..." Bad caps sound bad, good caps have less of a negative impact. Stay away from the real cheap ones. Look for Lower ESR. The less capacitance you use, the less negative impact it will have. If you want a fru fru electrolytic cap shootout, I am sure you will get it, it is worthless. Go with quality and improve your circuit to get better sound.

FWIW... I've been using F&T for the last few years --- with good success. No pre-mee failures, so far. About ten amps redone.
