Congratulations! It's a good sound, isn't it!
Would you like to post your schematic?

Did you go to that you youtube video and hear it? I was absolutely shocked at the clarity.
Honest amplification is better than excessive 2nd order distortion anytime.
LOL That is the dumbest remark I have read on here for a while . How on earth can you tell what an amp sounds like on Youtube ?
Al
you would be surprised with a good dgital p c set up you can sure get an idea of different sounds of he speakers. Some guys use hi end mics
Double LOL !!! Sorry but I fail to see the point , decent microphone or not . Auditioning amps on Youtube . Come on !!!!
Al
The 4P1L is pretty much like what you are hearing - dynamic, very clear, very detailed.
Aldovan has a different kind of circuit from me - more classic with cap coupling and cathode bypass caps. I like filament bias with the 4P1L and I couple with an interstage. I wanted to remove as many caps as possible since to my ears they blur the sound slightly. Whatever circuit you use, it's worth hearing this tube.
This is the schematic.
Is very simple.

Aldovan, very nice! I'm going to try something similar. What kind of power are you getting out of the amp? BTW I have a lot of experience with the 6N6P and love it. I'd suggest putting a CCS as a load, set it at 20-25ma, and use two LEDs to bias it at -4V. That will give the driver more headroom for the source, and move the operating point to a more linear part of the curves.twystd
