My 200WPC SET sounds waaaaay better than the 500wpc SS amp it replaced, driving my <85dB sensitivity speakers. Not even close. Similar bass, better detail, better decay of notes, much more 3-D, just more musical.I think confining tubes to high-efficiency speakers is a unnecessary and artificial limitation.

Monoblock amplifiers with 833C output tube, 6E5P driver tube. Monolith Magnetics S-833 output transformers. Two stage, direct-coupled design, 2.3kV B+.
