I guess it depends on how many you lucked into, because they are rare as hen's teeth and when you've run out of them, what do you do for replacements. Most of the tech developments toward the end of the manufac cycle in the 60s was spent on high power pentodes for TV deflection EL509,6LF6, 6LW6. The amps I've heard using the 6146 weren't very stellar and they burned up rather quickly. But the 6336 had a much larger glass envelope than the 6146 so they might be better in that respect. I thought 6336 were used by the military in power supplys as pass tubes. Moe

Moe, I've got quite a few at a very reasonable price, and there are more out there if this project works out at a reasonable price.
I'll tell you what tube has dried up is the 1625. for many years, they were readily available dirt cheap. No more.
I refuse to spend any more cash on current production 6550's. WAY overpriced for the length of service they provide, and they don't sound all that good compared to the GE 6550A.

1625's are still available for $5-10, which seems pretty reasonable.
