Most of them seem to accept only Gerber or Eagle files. Ideally, one that would be forgiving to the errors of a newbie :-)
I don't feel like learning a new software... I know it's intellectual laziness but i already have my hands full with Spice and actual circuit building. Plus I'd likely be using a free version of the pro software, having limitations.
This is for an occasional PCB that i would be confident enough to stock many units of. A quick example:
I guess it would need some adjustments to be sent to a shop...
Thanks,

Some old shops may still take positive plots. However the cost will surely be significantly higher as all the mechanical's will have to be manually entered.
I agree, you need to update to a modern PC board layout program with Gerber capabilities. Fortunately today there are many low cost options under $100 some even free.
Looks there is no escaping the need to learn a new set of techniques.
Unless I consider point-to-point... I think a shunt reg is simple enough to be wired P2P. Allows to get away with PCB capacitances..
I have been down this road.
I would suggest spending 50 euro on sprint-layout.
it has full gerber capabilities and gives you the option to shop your boards around. The really cool feature is you can import an image and copy it. The UI is done for the layman and if you can figure out cad and spice... this one is a breeze.

use freepcb if you have an XP machine still handy. Easy to learn, very intuitive interface. FREE!
You need Gerber files to send to a PCB house.
There ARE DXF to Gerber converters out there, I have used them in the past to convert hole arrays and odd cutouts to Gerber so they could be added to design files.
But converting a full design? Pretty iffy, I suspect. Lots easier and faster to start with freepcb.
You might try ExpressPCB. You'll need to redraw the board using their proprietary CAD software, but it's a free download. I don't think any board houses accept AutoCAD.
